Fake Twitter Account

Someone is posing as Sarah Silverman on twitter and linking to SSO to seem legit.

I notified twitter so that it could be taken down.  They have 600 followers reading this wannabe's updates.

Hi all

I read this post after suspecting it wasn't the real Sarah (the lack of humour gave it away)

I posted something to the effect of 'it's @imKM' and literally within 5 minutes 'Sarah' was saying 'I'm leaving now, it's been fun. Thanks to imKM for helping me' etc

This afternoon there was a lot of his feigning innocence, then Sarah's page changed name to 'fake_sarah_silv' and 'admitting' it was imKMs 'friend' and not him. Which was very 'honest' of his friend. Who by the way, was fake, it was still imKM.

imKM is a little boy who wanted traffic to his blog. He has written a full 'explanation' here :

After posting in a couple of places to compare the feed histories, and a defining reply on his blog pointing out where he had tripped up in his story, plus the final blow being that both he and 'sarah' did smileys backwards like this (:

(the reply immediately got deleted, tho i got a screenshot), then I said 'know you'd delete that' then all comments were just removed.

There was more than that but I been on this kids ass all day, and I'm glad I've got the whole thing shut down because it was giving the real Sarah a bad name. I had recently become a fan and after finding the twitter feed, I thought she was self indulgent, nasty, unfunny - there were rude posts saying she didnt care about boring followers and demanded replies all day - but thankfully it wasnt real, and her name won't be slanted any more.

I wish there was a way to tell all 'her' followers, but on search.twitter.com there was a lot of funny responses for the searches @imKM and @sarahsilverman and @fake_sarah_silv (tho the last 2 wont work now I think) of people who:

a) numerous people say they knew all along it was fake, how people were stupid not to - but loads of messages to her within a day before suggesting otherwise (not alanamarie44 as first suggested, there were others)

b) people who are currently in disbelief that it was ever fake, even now - @lilykily 'but it seemed like her...'

glad thats all over! get the word out imKM is a little fake!

Thanks Tom for letting us know it has been finally taken down!  Kids will be kids I guess.  Hopefully this one learned a lesson.
