AIDS 2015 Campaign

Posted by Gator on July 25th, 2012

Sarah is part of the FunnyOrDie.com public service announcement for One.org’s AIDS 2015 Campaign. The premise is celebrities talking (comically) about the future, culminating with Zach Galifianakis anticipating the end of AIDS (if viewers get off their “lazy fucking Western asses…”). Sarah appears five times (starting at :45), so don’t stop watching before the end! [24 July 2012; video length=2:52]

Vanity Fair Interview – July 2012

Posted by Gator on July 20th, 2012

Sarah talked to Vanity Fair magazine about her upcoming Wreck-It Ralph, and other topics as well. Read the article here. Some highlights:

On performing in a recording studio:

We got to record together, so John and I would look at each other. The director encouraged us to just riff and go off on tangents. There aren’t like the chains and restrictions you would think there would be with voicing a kids’ movie. You know, obviously I didn’t say “pussy.” It’s just fun to be able to look at someone and play a scene and go weird places.

On self-censorship for a children’s movie:

I’m not prudish, but I don’t think of myself as dirty. So many times people come up to me and tell me disgusting things and I know it’s because they think I’m like that, which is horrifying to me. There’s no way out of it other than to say [fake laughs], “Oh, that’s great!” But I really just grew up in a house that used real language to talk about real things. I never knew until I got into the real world how rare and taboo that is.

Plus a funny story of her plans for a joke about Republicans and hookers, in honor of the Republican Convention.

Wreck-It Ralph Official Trailer

Posted by Gator on July 19th, 2012

Wreck-It Ralph, featuring Sarah as the voice of Vanellope von Schweetz, opens November 2. Trailer has Vanellope at 1:52 and 2:05.

Synopsis (from July Vanity Fair): From Rich Moore, the Emmy-winning Simpsons director, the 3-D animated comedy stars John C. Reilly as the titular video-game villain, who grows tired of being the bad guy. After stopping by a support-group session for arcade villains…, he escapes his own video game and travels to others in hopes of proving that he’s an upstanding citizen. Along the way, Wreck-It Ralph meets Silverman’s Vanellope von Schweetz, a precocious ponytailed Sugar Rush character who makes light of Ralph’s woes.
