Sarah Not Hosting the ISA’s This Year :(

Posted by SSO on January 15th, 2008

Sarah Silverman will not be hosting this year’s 2008 Independent Spirit Awards ceremony. Instead the honor has been given to Rainn Wilson. Rainn was asked if he was nervous about following in Sarah’s footsteps and he replied:

Well, I could never compete with Sarah Silverman. I will never be able to say the word vagina as many times as she can. I am nervous about it. I’m not a stand-up comic, and I told them at the beginning that if they’re just looking for jokes and for people to tell jokes, that’s not really what I do. At first I was like, ‘Oh, there’s no way, I don’t want to be a host,’ and then I thought, ‘Well, it’s going to be hard to make this thing work and an interesting fun challenge,’ so I decided to take it on. And we have a little strike going — I don’t know if you heard about that — so I got some free time. – EW.com

Oh well, I guess all good things must come to an end. Maybe she will host the MTV Movie Awards again for this year. I’ll keep you guys updated.

Still Picketing

Posted by SSO on January 9th, 2008

WGA_SARAH.jpgSorry about the lack of updates on the website but there has been no new information to post. Sarah is still picketing due to the strike. I asked Sarah about the show and she said:

“We were writing ten more episodes and were 6 outlines in when the strike hit, so we’ve been frozen for the past three months.”

We here at SSO support the strike and hope both groups can reach a new contract soon! ¡Viva la unión!
